The joint event of the Agro ICT Cluster and the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, the fifth session in the series of presentations of the Academy of Agricultural IT was hosted this time by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Saint Stephen University.
Dr. Zsolt Nagy, the business development manager of the Fornax company group gave a lecture at the consultancy postgraduate course about the reasons of soil compaction and the methods of agricultural technology to fight against it.
Dr. Zsolt Nagy emphasised the importance of agricultural IT developments, while suggesting that this importance was discovered by the market in time. The fact that the past 5 years saw a dramatic increase in both the number and value of agricultural technology investments on an international level as well indicates positive expectations of the investors.
The lecture also mentioned the importance of increasing agricultural yields, the expected decrease of subsidies and the problem of soil compaction – a problem greatly distressing Hungarian agriculture as well. The expert went on to present the relevant development of the Fornax company group, and a professional dialogue ensued to discuss and analyse the experiences of consultancy.
The participants could also listen to dr. István Szabó, vice-rector of the Saint Stephen University about agricultural IT curiosities within the research and education portfolio of the university. After that professor Dr. László Fenyvesi analysed the degrading processes threatening the soil and the issue of soil compaction.
